Things we do in quarantine Part 1

We went on a ton of drives while we were quarantined.  I made homemade bread and we took it with us and made lunches in the car.  It was such a weird time when we couldn't see grandparents or friends, but there was a lot of bonding that went on inside our little family.  These are days we will never forget.  It was difficult to keep Braxton home, but we felt like it was the right thing to do.  Stay home, stay safe was the catch phrase our state used.  We also went hiking a lot, where we wouldn't see many people, but now all these months later hiking and being outdoors is so insanely busy, you see more people when you go to the outdoors then ever before.

Cam made a goal to chop with his ax through this entire tree.  He worked on it daily until he got it.  What a great goal and big accomplishment.

I took the boys hiking one day and got these pictures that I love so muhc.  They make me think of an album cover for a boy band.  The sky was stunning and they were having such a great time laughing.

 Unfortunatly Braxton ran a red light and totaled his car,  it was a pretty bad deal, but everyone was ok and now we just get to deal with the aftermath. He got a ticket and the insurance will go up. We shared a car for two months, but he has finally bought a truck from Russ Montgomery.  It was hard sharing, he wined a lot!

The sister missionaries shared a message with our family.  It was really nice and the message was good to hear.  We even took them some sidewalk chalk so they could draw on the driveway since they are quarantined to their house.  The prayer they gave at the end was amazing.  They blessed our family and we were so happy to share some time with them.

We took a day trip to the Knolls, us and the entire rest of the world.  They had shut down a lot of state parks so the Knolls was one of the few open, it was so so busy, but luckily when your riding, we rarely saw anyone.

Cameron took to playing games through the IPAD with his friends.  They played monopoly and sorry a lot.  Some days he played for hours and hours, I even had to bring in his lunch while he played.  It was so good to see someone his age even if it was virtually.

Everyday I wrote in my gratitude journal.  It really helped with my mental status.  It was a very hard time for me with all the change of schedule and having all the family home all day everyday.  It was exhausting and hard and thinking of things to be grateful for really kept my spirits up.

Had to take a pic of the gaming that went on upstairs.  Dakota and Cam have played a lot of fort night, unfortunately they had to move it downstairs because it got to hot so now they take over our TV all the time!

We went to the spiral Jetty for a day trip.  On the way we stopped at a business out there that makes rockets and looked at their display.  The spiral Jetty wasn't that crowded until we left, then wow we saw 50 cars coming in while we were driving out.  It was shocking to see how many cars.  It was a great hike and such a cool piece of art.  The boys wrote Puerto Rico in the sand and did a thumbs down because that is where we should have been.  It was a huge disappointment to have to postpone our once in a life time vacation, but hopefully we will get there someday.

Not in Puerto!!  Sad day.

We ate breakfast burritos in the car after the hike.  We did this a lot because no restaurants were open, and we were staying away from germs as much as we can.

I just took this one to remember that they even closed the parks.  Man there were so many rules and many people went on walks or played ball at the park, but playgrounds were off limits.

General conference was all broadcast--no spectators.  The apostles sat 6 feet apart and there were only a few in the room at a time.  The choir was songs they had sung in years past.  It was very different and kind of sad, but still very spiritual and great messages.

Cameron's Sunday school teachers had them keep track of the color of the apostles ties from conference.  He was talking on the phone trying to earn his treat!

One day when they were really stir crazy they went over to the pink house and raided the trailer outside and found things to destroy with Lacrosse balls.  They shot out some mirrors and a TV.  They had a blast.

Cam did Lacrosse on zoom a couple of times a week so he could stay in shape. Not many kids participated, but Cam loved doing it.

Crepes for breakfast.  We ate a lot of breakfasts together.  It was a really nice time of family togetherness I will admit.

We even dyed eggs virtually.  Kiley and kids and Mom did them at Moms house and we did them here. It was fun to see their creations, but sad to not do it together.

Dakota built a garage for their RC cars.  He did such a good job on it, even made two stories on it.
