Snake River Trip

Good friends, good food, kids that actually don't fight, what more could a family ask for. We had such a good time, make that great time, near Jackson Hole this past weekend. The adults ran the river (not me, not interested), and then we took the kids up higher where it is calmer and they got to run a little part of it. The whole clan, Bryce Moyes family, Ed Hall Family, Shane Weston Family, Jake Weston Family, and Blake Hall Family. 10 Adults and 13 kids--All 8 and under.
Cameron and Dean Hall had so much fun, they followed each other around the whole weekend.

We went into Jackson to check out the town, the kids enjoyed posing by the animal statues and running around like crazies. I just wanted to get back in the truck, too many people and children who can not control the urge to jump on everything, I get a little irritated :)
We went to the Bar J Wranglers, all 23 of us at one table. It was really fun and quite entertaining. Dakota fell asleep on my lap and Braxton had had it with all that sitting still so we left a little early, but it was still a really good time.

Dakota's Heart

Last night right before bedtime, there was a knock at the door. A girl was standing there and said "would you like to buy a bracelet to support my soccer?" They happened to be the same bracelets that Braxton makes so I said no thanks. I shut the door and Dakota got really big eyes and said in his New Yorker voice "But mom, what about her soccer" (kind of like what about hoe socco). So I grabbed a couple of dollars and sent him outside after to help support her soccer. He just could not believe that I would not support her soccer. He has such a kind heart and truly cares about others. I am so proud of him and hope he always feels that way about others.

Another Year of Swimming Lessons

Braxton passed Level 6 and Dakota passed level 3 this year and are both becoming quite the swimmers. I am constantly impressed with their stamina, I am not really a swimmer, more of a floater, so they impress me. Braxton had to tread water for 5 minutes and then swim 8 laps there and back which about wore him right out, but he did it. Dakota can jump off the diving board and swim all the way the length of the pool, what good swimmers!

4th of July

I have decided I have mixed feelings about the 4th of July, I think it is a great holiday and I love all the fun activities, but it is more exhausting than Christmas. My boys slept out on the tramp at my mom's with my sisters and brother (the good sports, not me I have a comfy bed next door). They did not sleep at all! I think they got about 4 hours of sleep and that was disturbed sleep, it was not good for the 6 o'clock wake up call that the fire station does. So we had two meltdowns by 10 and I think I was about to melt down, I even suggested that we go camping next year over the 4th, I am sure I will change my mind, but surely we are not sleeping on the tramp until the boys are older and can handle no sleep (whenever that is?).

After Cameron threw up all over me and him and Becky's carpet we all took a 2 hour nap, and felt better and had a great evening of barbecue with friends and fireworks watching. Maybe it was just me, I think I am ornery on the 4th too! It starts at 6 am and goes until 11 pm with no time for a breath, it is just exhausting.

Braxton won the largest prize in the raffle at the park, the Bike. It is more like my size, but it is awesome and we will get much use out of it.
