Summer fun!

Shane, Braxton, and I got a chance to go to Camp Fife for scouts the other day, so Cam and Dakota got to spend the day with Grandma and the cousins.  They went to Barker park where we go every week after our $1 movie, but this time they discovered a tire swing and hut.  They were all pretty excited to tell me about it and it sure looks like they had a good time.

Dakota's machine pitch team had a chance to make it to the finals in their league.  His team got 2nd place overall, he did a great job.  He mostly played left field, but his favorite was catcher.  He got to play catcher a few times.  

Braxton went back to Rec. Ball this year.  We were a little worried, but it turned out to be a good experience.  He had a great coach, Todd Wheeler, who really taught the team a lot.  Brax got to pitch every game and did a great job.  Some games he was off, but most games he was on, and on fire!

One game Dakota got to fill in on Braxton's team.  He was pretty excited and he even got a ticker (foul ball) that he was happy about.  He had never hit off of a regular kid pitcher.  It was a good experience.  He felt pretty big.  

Overall Baseball was fun.  It was an eye opening experience for us having 6 ball games a week, but they really enjoyed it and it was good family time every night.  We even managed to still have scouts every Tuesday night at 6 a midst the chaos.  I was stressing over that one, but it all worked out in the end.  Sometimes life gets so busy and all the fretting I do doesn't accomplish anything, but I surely still do fret :)

Russ and Becky invited us to go to their cabin with them over Memorial Day weekend.  On the way we stopped and looked at Idaho Falls and walked around.  The falls were beautiful.  It was only the beginning of all the beautiful things we would see that weekend.  I don't even have a pic of everyone who went, but it was us Becky and Russ, Alisha and Alan and Michael.  We played games, visited, made yummy meals, hiked, took turns sleeping in Grandma and Grandpa's bed, went frog hunting, went to Yellowstone, and just enjoyed each others company,

The view of the moon over the Tetons was breathtaking.  I have never seen anything so big.  I was in awe.

Old Faithful

Cam's a Graduate! and Dakota's Puppet show.

Cam graduated from Joyschool!  He had a good year and I was jumping for joy after having taught 6 years of preschool taking turns in my home, it was a happy day.  He made some great friends and so did I.  Below: Izzie, Peyton, Tucker, Ryder, Boston, Miles, and Cam.  Missing: Ryder.

Dakota had his 2nd grade puppet show.  Grandma Becky made his puppet with him (or she did it ;) and it turned out darling.  He was little boy blue.  He had his entire part memorized and spoke clearly, what a great son!

This is his buddy Simon.  They were both in Mrs. McFarland's class this year and had a great year.

Braxton's Arrow of Light

 Braxton earned his Arrow of Light for cub scouts in May.  He was way excited to receive it.  His cub master makes them a plaque with their name and a place to hang their arrow.  He thought it was pretty neat, and so did we.  Shane and I are the Webelos leaders, so we got to spend some months with him earning it.  He is a great kid and works hard on his scouts. He is amazing when we give him a responsibility he really takes it serious and carries it out.  We are proud of you Brax.

Cameron played his first year of t-ball this year. I am a slacker on the camera and only had Troy grab this one at his last game. He had a fun season, he did a LOT of messing around on the field, but it is to be expected.
