Signs of spring...

Wahoo!!! all of my boys have a friend over and they are playing OUTSIDE!!!  I love spring.  Every year as winter comes to a slow end, we are so thankful for outside time to get out all the mighty energy we have around our house.

Yesterday in the morning Cameron asked me, "Mom why do you have to work on Wednesday nights?"  I told him my reasons why to which he replied "Well I don't like it because I cant give you a kiss and hug before I go to bed on Wednesdays".  I assured him that I will come in and give him a kiss when I get home every week.  I love the innocence of childhood.  They are so loving and caring.

Rock Hounding

The other day I had a wild hair to get out of dodge.  I was wanting something warm and sunny where we could soak up some Vitamin D.  St. George was all booked out at the hotels with pools which is a must have for the Weston family so we went to Nephi, then headed West to Topaz Mountain to hunt for rocks.  There was no sun, but a pool, awesome rocks, and a ton of fun.  We invited Brent, Rebecca and Tara along for the adventure.

First we went to the trilobite beds.  We dug in the rocks for a couple of hours and only found a few small trilobites, but Shane and Brent were fixing a flat tire on our truck for a while of that so we just kept digging.  It was very windy and cold, but we had pix axes so we just dug and dug.  We went on some really bumpy dirt roads and used a whole tank of gas driving here and there.  The kids did a great job and didn't even complain.  They listened to books on CD and took naps with their heads bobbing up and down.

Next we went to the Geode beds.  There were TONS of Geodes.  It was the jackpot!!!  We came home with about 50 that we do not know where we will put, but we are going to clean them up and save our few favorites and maybe even use them in the yard for decor.

On the way home we made a pit stop for some shopping at Cabella's and the outlet stores at Traverse Mountain.

February Fun

For Blue and Gold we had a "Scouts of the Round table" theme.  The boys built masks, shields and swords at scouts.  Of course my other two boys needed to participate too. It was last night and turned out great.  They jousted with swimming noodles and the winner was the best death scene.  It was fun. I got my pin for 4 years of scouting, not sure how I feel about that, hopefully it will never be 10 ;)

We invited our cousins over for a Valentini.  We ate tini foods and celebrated valentines day.  Tini sandwiches, tini cookies, tini cupcakes, tini hot dogs.  It was a fun time, maybe a new tradition! Dakota, Jake, Kiley, Carrera, Cameron, Denim, and James in the baby seat.
