Stake Lagoon Day

This year my mom decided we all needed to go to stake Lagoon Day, and being the party pooper I am I resisted, but finally gave in and had a great time. I do not like crowds, kids that are hungry or winey, and sun at places like Lagoon, but I should have known the kids would go into what I call "vacation mode" and act like we are on vacation and be angels having the time of their lives. I did not take any pics of Brax, because he was off on the scary rides with Troy and Jake, the ones I get puky on. The other kids rode the rides in kid land over and over and we stayed All day. Good times.

1st day of School 2011

Dakota Started 1st grade today and Braxton Started 3rd grade. Two kids in all day school is good and bad as are most things in life. First having them stimulated and their brains working all day will be very good for these two rambunctious little boys, but they have left behind a very sad little guy who insists on his mothers attention most of the day. I love spending time with Cam, but he is quite spoiled and demanding. I am sure everyone will adjust and just as half way through summer we are tired of summer, we will be tired of homework and getting up in a couple of months also. I suppose we are never happy with just one thing.

Dakota cried two or three evenings in a row before school started saying he would miss me, and Braxton was jumping for joy to start school. He loves it! They both seem very happy with their teachers and I think they'll be very nice.

Good Luck boys, you will rock learning to read, times tables, and cursive!

THAT time of year!

I am not sure if it is easy to tell what this is or not, but it is my husbands fall obsession in full swing. I was looking on the SD card for some pictures and I came across this one and a whole bunch of his teeth. You see Shane got braces a month ago and it is also starting to be hunting season, so this is what I get to look at teeth pictures and arrows all clumped together, he must have been especially proud this day he even measured how close they all were together--funny husband.

I am not sure where the pictures I was looking for are right now, probably on the mountain with him on the opening day of the Utah archery hunt. This year I am going to be a better, more supportive wife (haha), and not complain about all the absence from family and just realize how happy I am that he has a hobby that makes him happy. Wish me luck!!!

Funny Cam!

Cameron is obsessed with being four (he's not until November), so he starts out many sentences with-- I must be four because:

-I am getting so tall.
-I can play Go Fish by myself.
-I can put up the garage door by myself.
-I even put on my own shoes!
-I can put on my own packpack (backpack).

Discovery Gateway

Marley had a family pass for the Discovery Gateway that she wanted to share with us so me and Mom took my boys and Marley to the museum in Salt Lake. It was really a fun place with lots to see and play with. Our favorites were the farmers market and the building area. There were magnetic building blocks that we played with forever. We created all kinds of things.

There is also a Lifeflight helicopter that we could sit in and pretend with, it was pretty cool. Me and Braxton even shared a really special moment as we talked about the day he went for a ride in a Lifeflight. I cant believe how fast the emotions come racing back when you remember things like that. We hugged and both held back the tears, he is such a special little boy that I am thankful everyday that I got to keep!
There is a huge water area where they float things down and turn the water on and off, Dakota especially loved this part (I forgot to get his picture).

Backpacking

The annual Weston Backpacking happened again this year at Big Elk Lake. My husband unfortunately takes a lot of movie, not so many pictures so there is not one of the group--it was Brent, Cody, Shane, Brax, Dakota, Justin, Cade, Jake, Dalton, Gunnar. They drove in and then took the 4-wheelers on the rough road, then begin their hike in. Dakota and Gunnar were first timers and were quite the troopers.
Braxton and Dakota all snuggled up in the tent.
(Funny story, Shane bought one new sleeping bag for the adventure and immediately said it was Dakota's. I asked why and he said "that kid never gets anything new, its his turn". The life of hand me downs which so far in life he thinks are awesome, we will see what he thinks later in life.)

Grandpa Brent crashed out on this rock for a long afternoon snooze.
There was one catastrophe that I am glad I missed, Brax got a pretty deep cut on his finger. He was holding the knife while Shane gutted a fish and Braxton swatted at a mosquito and came down on the knife, which is more like a razor blade. Dr. Cody came to the rescue and Brent had some superglue, so they got it all fixed, but I am sure it needed stitches (this picture is after the doctoring) and am glad I didn't see it for a few days.

Happy 12th Anniversary Shane!

Wow, I feel this same way every year on this day, completely boggled at how fast the past 12 years have gone by. I was just a kid I tell you and now I feel like an old lady having been married 12 years, but it has been so awesome! We have three wonderfully crazy boys that make us smile everyday, we have a house in a city that we love, we both have jobs that we love, and best of all we have each other.

We spent the night at North Fork camping to celebrate and had such a great time. We hiked, ate at a cute little restaurant (Eats of Eden), slept in, made smores and just enjoyed being together. Time passes too quickly when we pretend we are young again and without responsibility or a care in the world and I look forward to the next 60+ years of celebrating the day we said I DO! I love you Shane!
