Willow Tree Sadness

Well, our willow tree finally kicked the bucket during that last wind storm.  It was a sad day, we lost a TON of shade and now have a big empty spot in the middle of our grass.  It fell on the pool a bit so I was super worried, but my dad helped me get right to getting it off before he went to bed after working a graveyard shift.  It didn't hurt the pool thankfully.

We had some really hard workers helping us to take it to the dumps.  They love that kind of work, I actually think it feels a lot like play to a young boy--tools are just like toys to them.  They also found a fort that Cam is hiding in and were sad when I said it had to go.

Dakota and Denim were at scout camp, but helped afterward.

Owen helping Shane remove the stump a couple of days later.  Luckily it split right down the center so we were able to pull it out with the truck.

Backpacking

Shane and Jake took all 6 of our boys and headed backpacking this year.  They had a blast!  Nothing like some man time in the woods, eating Mountain House meals that were "delicious Mom", and swimming in the freezing lake in their underwear.  They caught tons of fish, and hiked quite a few miles around to different lakes.

Bear Lake cousin trip

Kiley had a couple of extra nights at her condo so we took up all the kids and spent a couple rainy nights in the condo.  Eliza, Dakota, Braxton, Jake, and Denim playing skip-bo.  Carrera and Cameron in their fort.

Ogden Temple Open House

My dad had the privilege of working on the Ogden Temple so we got to go early for Contractor Day.  What a blessing it was to go through with the whole family.  It is such a beautiful place.

Bear Lake 2014

Friend trip 2104 to Bear Lake.We stayed at Blake and Ed's property in Paris again and headed to the beach for 2 days.  It was filled with good food and good friends and lots of sun.

Blake and Jessica rented a long board.  It was really fun, and harder than it looks.  Once Shane got on it was impossible to stay steady.

We know it was a good trip when everyone crashes out in the back seat on the ride home.
