Mother's Day

This year for Mother's Day my sweet boys gathered flowers around the yard like they always do and made me some lanterns out of soup cans. Cameron made me a fruit and yougart parfait. Shane gave me a neclace with all 3 boys initials on it that I requested. I love it. It's simple just like I like.

I love being a mother to these sweet boys. They are always so thoughtful and caring to me. Some days all I do is feed them and make sure they get where they need to be, but that is enough. They are getting so independent and grown up that mostly all they need is me to pay for all their adventures and get them to and from. I am learning to really cherish the moments when we can all just sit and be together, because the bigger they get the less this happens. They live outside, which I love also, but not so much interest in toys.  Everyday when Cam comes home from school he looks and calls out for me. He smiles that big Cameron smile and we do his homework together. He also wants (expects) a homemade treat. I love this part of my day and am very thankful I am here to be there for him every single day.

As of late...

Cameron was the star buckaroo for his 1st grade class last week. These are some of the things he said about himself. He loves to read, play soccer, eat pizza and play with Owen. He is so fun and full of life. He is a great student and totally crazy on the playground. I am so thankful he controls himself in the classroom. I eat Lunch with him every Tuesday when I go to volunteer, and the girls love him. A bit too much I would say. He giggles all the time and is soooo crazy. I sure love him.

I saw this sign at the kids school and it made me think of Shane. He is smart, but mostly he is persistent. He stays with solving problems for so much longer than most people and he is admired at work because of it.

Saturday afternoon and it's raining outside and Cam chooses to read. Man I love seeing mt boys read. It is so good for them and opens a window to the world. They tell me things all the time and I say "where did you learn that" and they respond "in my book".

James and Dakota buried themselves in the animals the other day. They sure do get along well. James has 3 great boys to hang with when he comes to our house.

It was the rain gutter regatta for scouts. Gavin Hill won the whole thing. It was a good time.

I love good sayings and this one really hit me. It's a good one. I think of it often.

Women's conference 2015

Kiley, mom, me, and tara went to women's conference again this year. We had so much fun and really felt the spirit.   We even packed food bags for children feeding america. Moms friend Chris and her daughters came also.

Dakotas #10

One decade ago I had my middle sweet, kind hearted little boy. He was a hairy thing on his arms and legs, and was so mellow and easy. To this day he is still all of these things (not so hairy though) He is now a bit fiesty to his brothers and doesn't like to share much but is easy going and kind and we sure love him.  All he wanted was to start karate so we signed him up. His buddy who lives behind us wanted to start too, so him and Forrest McConkie take together. It is very disciplined. He practices every morning before school. He LOVES it.

We took his best cousin Denim to get air and had a blast. We sure miss having him around since he moved.  4 boys jumping and climbing is their best activity. Then we went and ate pizza in the back of the truck.

Goblin valley

Jake and Alayna invited us to go south for spring break this year. We went to goblin valley near Moab and I was amazed at the beauty that is in our state. We have such marvelous things to see only a few hours drive away. We took the two pop up trailers and froze our behinds off!!  I have never been so cold on a camping adventure in my life. The desert gets so cold at night and we did not have the heater set up the first night. Wow, it was miserable. I don't like being cold much, but this was brutal.

We hiked in some beautiful slot canyons that at some places were one lane, you had to wait until people coming from the opposite direction passed, then take your turn. It was so cool. Something I haven't ever experienced.  One was where the slot went down about 30 feet and it was a bit nerve racking until we reached the bottom and no more kids could look off the edge.  It was freaking Shane right out and of course Braxton was arguing that he was 'fine'.

The Easter bunny stopped by our house while we were gone. Cameron was ticked that there wasn't a scavenger hunt this year. He told me that the Easter bunny could take it all back, and when he brings it back...bring a scavenger hunt with it. It was funny. I guess tradition does matter.
