Mother's Day 2013

My sweet boys got up at the crack of dawn on Mother's Day and went wandering around the yard to find me a beautiful bouquet of flowers.  This year the apple tree was in blossom, so they took a blanket outside and shook the blossoms and brought them in to envelope the gifts in a heart made of blossoms.  It was so creative and made my day.  Then we took some pretty great photos with the heart and they changed them to say Happy Mom's Day.  It was a really nice morning.  Shane bought me a Dyson for Mother's day and my birthday combined, and we got some good use out of it later that day cleaning up the blossoms.

Dakota's Baptism Day

On May 4, 2013 Dakota was able to be baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, he had a really nice day.  It was peaceful, and I wasn't even very stressed like I expected to be.  Everything ran smooth and the spirit could be felt as he went down in to the font.  He had tons of support as usual and I think we even managed to get a picture of everyone who came to see him on his special day (no Alan and Alisha before the baptism, just at the lunch).  I got to give the spotlight of Dakota and told everyone how great he is it went a little something like this: Dakota was born April 23, 2005.  He is the middle son with Brax as his older brother and Cameron as his younger (although I messed up and called Brax Dakota and he yelled out from the audience "MOM", it was funny).  His favorite food is Chicken Pillows and he loves all of school.  He likes to play soccer, play outside, and nerd out (electronics).  His favorite scripture story is Samuel the Lamanite and his Christ like quality is he is kind and compassionate.  He serves at home by helping whenever he his asked and he loves the song he just learned in primary called "One in a Million".

We also got to celebrate his birthday and have a luncheon afterward.  He was really excited about the presents.

Dakota is getting baptized!

 Our handsome boy turned 8 years old and chose to be baptized.  He was so happy and we were so proud of him.  Shane made this awesome invite and took the pictures of him.

Catch up!

 This is my handsome Dakota in 2nd grade.  His hair was really long here and it looks so dark.  He loves 2nd grade, gets good grades, listens well and is a great kid.

 4th Grade at PC elementary does a play called Lewis and Clark.  Braxton was a soldier and did a great job singing and he even had one line speaking part.  We were so proud of his grade and all the hard work they put into the play. Braxton has had a great fourth grade year.  He is so smart at math that his teacher called us out of the blue to say how good he was at math and how he understood something once faster than her.  What a proud mom and dad!

 Dakota had a very special birthday on April 23rd he turned 8 years old.  He was so happy to finally be able to be baptized.  We had breakfast in bed and then celebrated later in the week with a dinner at the Pizza Pie Cafe, the boys favorite place.

 Braxton was assigned a diorama of Iron County.  He actually had to make it look like a parade float.  He got 100% on it and worked really hard on it with Shane.

 It was Dakota's star student week at school the week after his birthday.  He had to do a "Show and Teach" where he taught them how to make smoothies.  He did a great presentation and the kids in his class loved the smoothie.  Grandma Julie and Cam got to come see him too.
