Just sitting here enjoying some yummy cookies given to us by two of our best friends in the whole world thinking how blessed I am. It has been quite the few days. Shane's grandma Farr (Becky's Mom) passed away today and I have been sicker then I remember being for quite a few years, or ever in my married life for that matter. Usually I can kick a sickness just by pretending that I am not sick. This time I've spent two boring days in bed and still feeling pretty crappy. My voice is about gone.
Shane and the boys went to church without me today and ended up coming home early because poor Braxton cried all the way through 2.5 hrs. Dakota all the way through sacrament. It is hard to loose someone we all loved so dearly, no matter how ready she was or how prepared we thought we were, it is so hard. It is doubly hard as a parent to watch your children have to go through such sadness. It was about this time last year we started to loose our grandparents, and I feel like it will keep happening over and over for the next few years.
I never experienced this as a child, I was too young to remember my two grandpa's dying and my grandmas are still with us, although quite frail. Watching them cry and cry breaks my heart. Great learning opportunities present themselves in such situations and I hope that as a mom I can take full advantage to help them feel the spirit and know that we will see Grandma Farr again. Help them to see that she is in a better place freed from her earthly body that was causing her so much pain. She was a wonderful, talented woman and we will miss her greatly, but know we will someday be together again.
Now for a long week ahead. :) I am feeling ever so grateful today that Becky invited them to be in our family photo taken late fall. What a treasure!
