Facer Family Party

One of my favorite Christmas memories as a child was the Facer Pinata. We would go to Grandma Facer's Garage and do the pinata then head out to deliver her neighbor gifts and carol along the way. It was so fun, and now we get to pass that tradition on to my kids by doing a pinata every year and another day taking around Grandma Jo's (as she likes the Great Grand kids to call her) neighbor gifts.

Decking the Halls

For FHE tonight we decided to put up the Christmas stuff. We had a really nice evening and got away with only one minor injury. Braxton broke a glass ball (on purpose over top of the garbage can) and shattered it everywhere and of course he was bleeding and in true Weston style almost passed out. I don't know where Shane and Braxton get it, but they get queasy so easily. His face turned white and he had to sit down. Our tree is very lopsided and I love it that way. Cam got the privilege of doing the star because he is the youngest.

We are excited for Christmas. After we wrote letters to Santa and the requests were:

Braxton: Healys (Shoes), Race car track like Grandma Becky, Zhu Zhu Pet

Dakota: Zhu Zhu Pet, Race car track

Cameron: Presents, Toys, I like Thomas

We get multiple requests of the same item every year, now we just buy (or Santa builds) in threes!

So Proud!

I dont have a picture because I video taped the award ceremony, but I just wanted to document that Shane recieved two awards at work. He got Civilian of the Quarter two times, once for his division and then once for the entire base. I was so proud of him and really appreciate how hard he works for our family. He got a cool clock in a wooden box and a plaque of a sort. It was so fun to go and watch him get his award, the boys and I loved it. At the second ceremony we even got to hold noise makers and holler, the boys thought that was the coolest!

The First Thanksgiving

Every year the Elementary does a first thanksgiving and the kids get to do fun stuff to learn about mountain men, Indians, and things from the time of the pilgrims. The kids look forward to it and it is a lot of fun. These are my two Indians in borrowed costumes (of course!!).

SIDENOTE: Sometimes I think that Plain City Elementary thinks that every mom in the city limits is talented and can use a sewing machine, paint, sing, play and instrument, and every other talent I do not posses. They are quite the partiers. I love all the fun stuff they do, but I cant keep up with all the impressing that goes on.

My Baby is 3!!

I could really get used to this. Everyone is potty trained and clearly talking and expressing themselves (sometimes too much) and I rarely have to haul a child around on my hip. It is very strange, but I really like it. I even took Braxton to the grocery store with me for the first time in about 4 years because he can finally stay by me and is quite the big helper, I know I am a pansy, but I am telling you he was quite the wanderer.

Cameron turned three years old and is quite obsessed with being "a big boy". He and Dakota have become the best of friends the past couple months and as they run around the house it seems like just yesterday that Brax and Dakota were the same way. He loves Thomas the Train and anything that goes with him.

Three things I love about you at age 3:

1-Your smile can light up an entire room and make my day better in an instant.

2-You love to snuggle with me right after your nap and I cherish it every day!

3-Every day when we are about to read a story for nap time you hide in your covers and I pretend over and over that I don't know where you are. I love how we could do it 10 times and you still giggle like it is the first time every time.

Harvest Arts Festival

At Plain City's Harvest Arts Festival this year they let the kids paint, and as you can see it was no quick task. My boys took all sorts of time and energy trying thier very best. They both got ribbons and they displayed them all month long. Braxton's

Autumn

The other day the boys were working their tails off trying to get a pile of leaves, so I decided to do it the easy way and get the lawnmower to pick them up and pile them for them. They were having so much fun, as you can see it was the same day as the Halloween Parade at school. Halloween and Leaves, can it really get any better!

A New Tradition

The annual pumpkin carving at our house was last night. We have done this with Shane's dad and wife for a few years now and last year we added the Cox bunch. It was really fun once again. Grandpa and Cameron who sat and stabbed his pumpkin over and over and about gave Grandpa Brent a heart attack. It was so funny. I think Cam about cut off his finger multiple times.

Dakota chose the biggest one in the patch way back in September and carved it up last night. He is such a fun little boy, with so much personality.

I love Primary!!

I am not sure if this picture is very clear, but it is a heart laying on Braxton's pillow that says "secret service". I found it in his bedroom this morning and wondered if a little girl at school had given it to him but later found out it was from Dakota. His primary teachers had given it to him to do service around his house. That is exactly why I love love love primary. Where else could my child learn such a great thing. I know I would have good intentions of teaching something like that, but it just doesn't happen nearly enough. The other reason I love primary is that my kids memorized their parts and stood up at the pulpit like champions and recited them without fear. I just think that kind of courage is amazing and we had 75 kids show the same amount of courage, I was so proud!

Halloween

Our friends the Beeson's had a fun Halloween party where everyone dressed up and had a fun night. This is Jake/Alayna and Dave. They are Gothic Little Cesears employees, and he is Dog the bounty hunter. I thought their costumes were awesome. Shane and I went as a hippie and Ozzy Osborne. I am not sure if they go together, but we look crazy anyway and at Halloween that is all that matters.

Once again it has been a busy October at our house. We have sold completely out of pumpkins and it is only the 24th. We had the party for the opening back a month ago and it was a success, and it pretty much has not had one break since then. I only had one preschool and we still sold out. We used to have a lot of sales to preschools, but I guess the word is out and people are coming earlier and buying tons of pumpkins. We love doing it and it is great to have money to save for the boys missions!

How special is it to have 4 generations of members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints all there to witness this special occasion for Braxton (Grandpa just celebrated his 90th). Grandpa Eldon Weston(90), Grandpa Brent Weston(60), Shane(33), Braxton(8)

What a beautiful day! I was fighting back tears all day and honestly for weeks before. I never thought I would be old enough to have a child baptized and my little guy that I prayed so hard for 8 years ago really brought my emotions to the surface. It was a very beautiful day and we were so lucky to have all of our families there, and the luncheon went well, it was just all around a great day.

(who ignores her kids all morning long and this is what the house looks like):, which would not be a big deal except that I had pumpkin customers and an appraiser (refinance) came at the exact same time. He took pictures INSIDE the house, OF EVERY ROOM. I could have died to say the least. Oh well life goes on :)

Scouts

Well it has officially begun, my lifetime of scouting. I acutally have been in charge of the cubs for my presidency assignment for the past year, but it is officially my family's turn to do scouts for the next probably 15 years (AAHH!!) Wow when I just wrote that it freaked me out. Cam is 2 and he will probably finish around 17 or 18, so yes I get to have this in my life for what seems like forever!

Braxton was beyond excited to go. He asked about every day since his birthday when it started. He was excited to wear the shirt and the neckerchief, and was even more excited when he got home to tell me all about it. I am happy that he likes it and hope he keeps that fire in him to get all the advancements they earn. Now Shane and I get to figure it out for ourselves.
