Cruise Day 1

We embarked on the ship Monday morning and spent the day on the ship. The first thing we did was eat at the buffet. The kids asked 20 times, can I have one of those, it was hilarious. They had a hard time adjusting to taking whatever they wanted. By the end of the week they were eating endless ice cream and taking too much food and has to be reminded to take what you can eat. We were all so impressed by the boat how fun it was and how big it was. It is so strange to think your in the middle of the ocean but feel like you are in a building. We played ping pong, mini golf, swam, soaked up the sun, went to shows, ate one meal after another, and just had a great time.

Dinner was served at 6 every night and we had to dress up. The first night was come as you are, but collars and shoes were required after that. No swimsuits or shorts. It was soooo fancy. We ate many interesting things and dessert every night.
Every night they put a cute towel animal on our bed. It was fun to see what one was there every evening. It was like living in luxury. The living quarters were cramped, but that was our choice so we could be in the same room together. It was one big bed under two uppers and a cot on the floor. The boys traded beds every night and we slept on the big bed.

We're leavin on a jet plane......

Don't know when we'll be back again.  We decided this year to take the kids on their first airplane and fly to LA to catch our cruise boat.  We debated about driving or flying, but it was all in on experiencing 'firsts' for the boys. They had never flown, been on a shuttle (aka bus from airport to boat), been on or seen a cruise ship, had a super fancy dinner, and the list goes on and on. It was magical. They were mesmerized by it all and seeing it through their eyes was magical for me. They asked 500 questions before we left. They googled 500 movies to watch so they knew what to experience. We packed the car full and stayed in a hotel by the airport. To kids that is a vacation, but they had no idea what they were in for....

End of elementary

My sweet, happy, crazy, silly, responsible, and very handsome boy graduated from 6th grade at Plain city elementary. It was a sad day for me. I am nervous for 7th grade and also happy for him to grow up. 7th grade is rough. The kids are brutal.  The language is horrible, and I feel he has been sheltered so far in life and it may come as quite a shock. I am proud of how well he has done in school so far. He loves math and is learning to love reading.  He even finished 40 books for the 6th grade goal this year. It was many late nights and many while following along while a cd read it to him but he did it.

He still plays the piano, although he is fighting that a bit. He loves all sports and is quite athletic.  He tried lacrosse this year and loved it!  His team only won 2 games but he made a lot of goals and ran his butt off in practice and games. It was very good for him. His mind needs that kind of release.

Proof that my three boys still enjoy playing together.
