4 day weekend at the Aquarium and Topaz Mountain

The kiddos had a 4 day weekend so we started it off visiting the aquarium in Layton.  Grandma Weston gave us a pass for Christmas and Kiley and her kids also have one so we went together.  Here Dakota and Tara are letting the little fishies eat the skin off of their fingers. 

The next day we left for 2 days at Topaz Mountain and hiking in some really cool cobblestone slot canyons.  All of our boys are so fascinated with finding treasures in the mountains, as well as Shane.  We took Tara on our adventure and also Cody, Shannon, Tanner, Shannon's dad Vern Brent as well as Lisa, Neil, and Landan.  Cody's friend Bryan and family also came. It was a good crowd and we found some great treasures. 

Nothing quite like a good old road trip!  We have a "no electronics in car policy" and I love the conversations we have and all the naps we get to take.  I love my family and the adventures we take together, we don't sit still very long before we have to go again....on to the next adventure.

February little things...

Dakota got inducted into the National Jr. Honor Society at Wahlquist.  He is such a smart boy and tries so hard in school.  I am so proud of his continual effort.

It was the anniversary of the accident and so we got together and had a balloon launch.  It was a nice day spent together reminiscing and being together.  I felt strange all week, just a bit grumpy.  On Sunday I felt like I really had my guards up and refused to feel anything at church, if I felt nothing I thought I wouldn't cry.  It was a strange feeling and week for sure. 

We had Winter camp for Young Women's.  Man I love working with these girls, I stay up all hours with them at these camps and just have a total and complete blast.  This was their skit and it was hilarious. The costumes and the lines are so funny. 

This is the story of anytime Shane lays down for more than 5 minutes.  He is so tired because he runs himself ragged coaching Lacrosse (both boys this year) and also working hard to provide for our family.  I am so thankful for him and all his hard work. I have been less then patient with this coaching business, but I am thankful he loves his boys so much that he is committed to so much time with them every day.  It was also his birthday and he requested Carne Asada Tacos, so we invited Jake and Alayna and family over and enjoyed some delicious tacos and cake.  All of his favorites.   

January Fun

The YM/YW had an ettiquite dinner.  It was a great learning experience and at the end they got instructed on how to dance.  My boys looked so handsome and had a lot of fun.  Braxton got paired with Taylor Hall and Dakota got paired with Rennan McConkie.  It was a draw out of the hat kind of a dinner.

Jake and Alayna invited us to their cabin again this year for a weekend of skiing and playing in the snow.  Shane and I sit in the lodge and really enjoy ourselves.  The boys love the chance to ski and be with friends and cousins that they adore.

My sweet baby boy decided he was done with his long hair.  I was almost as attached to the hair as he was.  I loved it.  But now that I am used to it, I cant believe how good he looks.  He is such a stud.  He also likes it because hair doesn't get in his face anymore.

We had our annual friend party at Amy J's house this year.  She has a new, beautiful house and we had great conversation and a fun time as usual.  I wish I had a group pic, but this is the only one I got. Amy Moyes, Meredith Jenkins, Tiff Kelly, Katie Orton, Cara Chugg.

For our christmas gift this year Mom and Dad gave us a day at Rush.  It is a fun complex that has skating, a foam pit, bowling, go carts, bounce houses.  We spent the entire day there as a family and had a blast.  I really like getting experiences together instead of gift, they have more memories involved.
