Braxton's accident Coming home day

Time to go home! When Braxton had been there for about 4 days he began to ask and push for when he could go home. They wanted him to stay until the weekend but on Wednesday they came and said you're going home tomorrow. Your insurance says your doing well enough to go home and do outpatient therapy, so you are out of here tomorrow. We were shocked and happy and scared and surprised. It was all the feels for sure. So we packed him up, listened to an out going slide show on TBI and we were on our way home. We came home to a beautifully decorated yard and garage door. It was such a welcomed surprise. While we were at Nielson rehab we stayed down there more often to avoid the long drive and one of us needed to sleep over with him. In fact we kind of felt like we needed to be with him most of the time. We sometimes left him alone over night but were back by 7 AM. He needed company and lots of things to do to keep him from going crazy. I cant remember if I mentioned, but he broke off his front tooth and chipped 7 others. It was a hefty bill at the dentist as well as close to 1 Million in doctor/hospital/life flight/ambulance/etc. bills. 

Tara gives the kids a daily rip off calendar with interesting facts on it each year for Christmas. This is the table collection that Cameron and Dakota made while we were in the hospital. It is a beautiful representation of time and how it passes no matter what. The time just keeps on ticking. 

Justin and Bernice gave Braxton this roping cow to play with at the hospital, it was good for his coordination as well as his sanity. Dakota and Cam also enjoyed it when he brought it home.

My dear friends and employers that are like family to me partnered with my family and F2TF to raise thousands of dollars in gift cards as well as cash donations to help pay Braxton's medical bills. Its impossible to explain what it feels like to be on the receiving end of such kindness. It is impossible to explain how far $20 goes when paired with hundreds of $20. All of our out of pocket expenses for doctor care were covered and people Venmoed us money for gas and food at the hospital. Like random strangers giving hundred dollar bills to Sandy so she could give them to us. There was an America first account set up that people donated to, there was the giving tree at the restaurant, and there was Venmo set up through Anything for a Friend. As I have prayed many prayers of gratitude and told as many thanks as I could, I have come to the realization that all the kindness that the Cottam and Bella's family gives to those in our community was paid forward that month towards Braxton and Us. Its like all the money and food that they have donated over the years came back as a HUGE blessing for my family. Words can't adequately describe how much I believe in what goes around comes around. Kindness matters, maybe it may not seem like it today, but tomorrow or years down the road it matters.
