Shane's friends all got together for a dinner in between everyone's 40th birthdays. We all had to pick their favorite childhood show or band or person and dress up like them. It was really fun. We had RBI baseball, Gilligan, Metallica, Rad bicycles and Becky Westergard put them on a poster with the boys face on the poster. It was a good idea. Then after a delicious dinner we played "Old Man, Younger Years" and we had two people race to see which of the 7 boys we were talking about in a trivia game. It was hilarious and we laughed our heads off. It was exactly what we needed after a long week of crying, family and exhaustion. It is weird being the center of attention after something terrible happens like that, and this party just made us feel normal. No one looked at us with the sad eyes and said they were sorry, they just acted like we are their friends and they are happy that we came to the party. Normalcy is something we definitely had not had for a couple of weeks and this was a great blessing to have some for even a few hours.
