October fun!!!

 

For our annual friend Halloween party we went as vacationers. It was a fun party as usual.

Braxton got to carve a pumpkin at school. The whole 4th grade got to. His was a wolf howling at the moon. It was at the pumpkin alley at the fairgrounds.

Out globe willow took a beating in an early snowstorm.  Two or three of the branches fell from too much weight. The boys thought it was so fun to have a place for a fort until we had to cut it up and haul it off to the dumps. Then they were super mad at us.  It was fun to haul it off too, but now the fort is gone.  

Denim came over to help too!

Little boys with axes may seem crazy but they were in heaven. Saws and axes to destroy things can keep them occupied all day.

Annual Pumpkin carving with Lisa and Neil family and Brent and Rebecca.  Grandma Weston came too and carved her own pumpkin.  I love this tradition.  We are pumpkin people and we love taking the time to spend together carving them.  The kids get so creative.  

Grandma Rebecca helped Braxton get his lid off and then he stewed over what to carve on it for so long that he didn't ever finish before the party ended.

Shane decided to try making donuts this year and they were DELISH!  It is Lisa's recipe, so she did the handy work and we had an assembly line to get them fried and coated in the glaze.

This year the boys were really easy to dress for Halloween   Dakota and Cameron chose ones that were in the Halloween box and Braxton went through his and Shane's closet to become a hunter (around here there is an abundance of camouflage).  Trick-or-treating was so fun.  Everyone kept up and had a great time.  Cam stayed with us until about a half hour before the end.  He was a trooper.  Of course, we ended up with about 30 pounds of candy after going to both of the rest homes (Grandma Boss--Emeritus, and Grandma Facer--Manor Care).  Halloween is always a crazy, run around day but it is full of great memories, one of those days it is great to be a kid.  Carefree and looking forward to the next holiday, not with worry or anxiety  but with anticipation and excitement.
