Catch Up

For some reason this time of year feels a lot like that--catch up.  We are crazy busy with baseball and soccer overlapping, and only 2 of our boys play.  In the next couple of years it will only get worse.  We do love to see our boys play and improve each game.  Braxton's soccer team was really pretty good this year.  They had a really good coach and were learning to work together and won almost every game.  Brax scored quite a few goals and was really good at defender.

Dakota also had a really good time playing this year.  The "Incredible Hulks" were getting really good towards the end also.  He is a ball chaser, but was kicking a lot more towards the end.

Braxton had his spring piano recital.  He had his solo memorized and did a great job with Mrs. Lott on his duet.  Also something new and exciting for Brax is his glasses.  He got glasses 1 month ago so he can finally see the board at school.  He looks very handsome and smart in them.  He is not supposed to wear them for sports, which means he only wears them about 50% of the time because he is so active, but as long as he wears them at school that is all that matters.  (I wanted to take a pic the first day he got them but he would have none of that!)

We had a near tragedy one morning 30 seconds before the boys left for school.  Braxton was playing with the light saber and Cam stood behind him at the wrong moment and took the back side right to his eyebrow bone.  Thank goodness it was not his eye.  It was a hard hit!  His eye swelled up HUGE and he couldn't even open it for a couple of days.  It has been 3 weeks and it is still a little black under his eye.

 A week and a half later!

Shane got to go to a training for work in Las Vegas.  He loves to travel and had a pretty good time.  He was able to go see the hoover dam, go to the aquarium at Mandalay Bay, see Mike Tyson, and try his had at the slots.  He hit the 1000 quarters in the airport on the way home, so he came home $250 richer.  It was even on his very last 75 cents, last pull, he said everyone gathered around and wondered what he had won because he  "WHOOed" so loud!

This is Cameron's favorite place to be---wherever Shane is.  He loves to give him a huge hug when he comes home from work and work right along side him in the garage or the yard.

This flag box had been the latest of Shane's projects.  His Grandpa Weston died a few months ago and was given this flag by the military.  Shane built this beautiful case out of a black walnut tree they cut down in Grandpas yard a while back. Shane is very talented and Grandma was so happy and thrilled to have a place to store the flag.
