Fall Fun

Bones joined the Fremont Mountain Bike team. He improved so much over the season and had such a fun time. He even spent 1/2 his life savings on a new bike that has better suspension for next year. It was so fun watching him improve and have such an excitement for his new sport. 

All of his biggest fans. Grandpa and Grandma Facer, Knox, Troy, Shane, Cam, Kiley, Tara, and Geana. The amazing thing about mountain biking is the scenery. It is all over northern Utah and it is at the most beautiful mountain places.

Jelly Bean asked a girl to the Homecoming dance. High school is such a fun time to do things like this that you remember the rest of your life.

The pumpkin patch was alive and well this year. We had a major drought so we couldn't water as often, and it was so so hard to get them to come up--like a complete replant that was not fun, but in the end we had a wonderful yield and a great season. I love finding treasures like these where there are 5 white ones right by each other, or an orange one on top of a blue one.  Nature is such an amazing thing! I spent many mornings out in the patch talking to God this year. I was feeling a lot of stress about raising an adult in my home, and I really found Jesus in the quiet mornings in the patch. It has become for me one of my favorite places to seek peace, teach valuable lessons to my children, and have long talks that they otherwise wouldn't have inside our home. It also brings me such joy to see the children come and pick out a pumpkin and families coming year after year and making our home a tradition for their families.

My Dad turned 70 this year and we celebrated with an entire day at Rush Funplex. We golfed, roller-skated, did laser tag, bowled, and ate pizza. It was a wonderful day.

Cambone never takes naps after church, but this day he fell asleep even before changing his clothes.

Braxton turned 19 and instead of taking him to lunch at Bella's since he worked in Salt Lake, we went to dinner all together. This picture of the whole family is one of my favorites from this year. It was a good day.

Dakota began working for Tom Cottam in June and is still working for him. They were restoring a a house in North Ogden. He learned so much and Tom is such a great mentor. He works MWF after school and loves doing it.

Dakota was so kind to let us be involved in his Homecoming dance. They came to our house for pumpkin carving and snacks in the afternoon, then did their fancy dinner at Conner's awesome outbuilding. We set the table up so fancy and served them dinner of pulled pork and brisket.

During conference this year we decided to set up the air mattress so we could all be comfortable.

Joe Cottam asked us to do a super hero fun run with him. Me Shane and Dakota dressed up and ran a 5K, it was hard but really fun.

This was my 3rd primary program that my presidency had. One was done during the pandemic over zoom, so it seemed like this was our first one. This is the seating chart that Jordan color coded and got everyone into their spots.

For fall break Chad and Alisa Hill, our next door neighbors, asked us to go to Richfield with them. This was our first time ever going to ride in Richfield and will not be our last. It has such beautiful trails and so many places to explore. We had so much fun sleeping in the KOA.  We pulled in to their spot where the trailer was parked, and Cam said "Woah people really camp like this!" He was shocked that people camp with bathroom and shower and paved roads. It was so funny to see his shock.

Pumpkin carving this year was so different, it felt kind of like a forced tradition. No one but me really wanted to carve but I made it happen anyway. Braxton was not spending a lot of time at home, and while it would have been easier to just do it without him, I wanted us to all be there so he graced us with his presence for 1 hour and sat and watched us carve. Traditions--worth it every time.

Cam and Logan dressed up and pretenede they were going to Trick-or-Treat, but they mostly rode bikes around and looked silly.

Shane saw this thing on YouTube where you dip fruit in a hot sugary mixture and then into an ice bath. I think it is called Kon Hulu, not sure. It makes a hard crust on the fruit and it is delicious.

First robotics competition of the year for Dakota and Denim. They are having a great season, often finishing in 2nd or 3rd place. And their robots are performing amazingly.

Cameron turned 14!! We had the grandparents over for cake and ice cream and a game of "This or That" as well as our traditional Bella's lunch. He is such a joy to be around and is growing up too fast!

Cameron got a gift of a 25 day advent to build a little Christmas city. He had such a good time doing his Kiwico everyday for the month of December.

Thanksgiving this year was spent at Kiley's house. We never spend Thanksgiving day with my family, so I decided this was the year. Shane smoked a turkey and Kiley baked one in the oven. They were both delicious.
