We spent a lot of time on multiple beaches in the area of Las Terrenas, the city our condo was in. I usually have a posing shot of Shane and his coconut, but he refused so Alayna did it this time.
We drove about 1.5 hours away to a city called Samana and did a zip line tour. I was a bit scared when we got to the top of the mountain after quite an unexpected hike, but after one time down the zip line I was having a blast. I made Shane go with me the first time, but after that it was fun to go alone. There were 12 stations that took us down this entire forest and the views were breathtaking. Our guide Ariel was so funny and entertaining. He cracked us all up saying if we went together we were married, but if we went alone we were divorced.

This is a very old Banyan tree that they built one of the platforms around. There is also a really neat tree house motel there in the middle of the forest, it was beautiful. At the bottom there was a darling little boy helping his mom sell pina coladas and he really took to Alayna. He held her hand all the way to the car to get her money.
We got to cross a really cool suspension bridge over the river to get to the next waterfall that had a super cool rope swing to jump off of the edge.
After the zip line we went to a local beach in Samana and had to drive THROUGH the river to get there. I was not happy about driving through it, but it wasn't too deep and of course Shane drove it like a champ. I ordered some rice and beans at the little restaurant there that was just amazingly beautiful, peaceful, and delicious.
We got to see all the people of the city coming in off their fishing boats for the day and as each one came onto the beach 15 men would gather and pull the boat all the way up on the top of the beach and admire each boats catches of the day. It was truly neighbor helping neighbor and made my heart happy.
